The energy performance of lighting is expressed in kWh/m2. This metric represents the annual average electricity demand per unit of illuminated surface. The lower this value; the higher the efficiency of lighting. In 2011 the average electricity consumption per square meter for lighting was 3.2 kWh/m2 [1].
The values for the lighting performance are taken from the three scenarios presented in PROGNOS 2012 [1] and they define the max and min values for the lighting efficiency slider.
