====== Waste incineration CHP ====== It is part of the [[c_cogen|centralized cogeneration]] group. The technology is based on a Rankine cycle with steam draw-offs after the turbine. A waste incineration power plant burns urban and industrial residues in a boiler which produces high pressure steam. The steam is expanded in a turbine, which runs an alternator that produces electricity. A steam withdrawal is done after the turbine in order to supply heat for the industry or for a district heating network. 50% of the burned carbon is considered to be from biogenic origin. Thus the 50% of the services (heat and electricity) supplied by this technology are assumed to be from a renewable energy source.
