====== Freight transport ====== [[freight_model_more|More information]] The demand for freight transportation is calculated as tonnes-km (tkm). The 2050 and 2035 values are an average of the "tkm" demand evolution for the three PROGNOS scenarios [[#References|[1]]]. Then the demand is attributed to rail or road transport depending on the value of the [[freight_model_more|Freight transport by train]] slider. The trains are considered to be only electric. Their electricity consumption for 2035 and 2050 are an average of the values calculated by PROGNOS [[#References|[1]]] for their three scenarios. The road freight transport assumed to be done by three kind of vehicles, whose shares and fuel economies are presented in the next table.
